Page 38 - We know there are districts exploring multi-media and virtual learning, allowing students to work in teams in classrooms and across the globe. We know that some districts are trying models that allow students to bring their own wireless devices, from smart phones to tablets, to use as learning aids in classrooms. We’ve also seen great work from districts, libraries and communities as they come together in new, more flexible, technology-rich learning environments, known as Learning Commons. What we need to do now is capture some of these great projects, look clearly at their value to student success, and help other educators learn how to make them work in their schools.

New Jersey Study again confirms that effective school library programs make a difference http://www.prweb.com/releases/2012/2/prweb9166843.htm

“The findings show that New Jersey school libraries and school librarians contribute in rich and diverse ways to the intellectual life of a school, and to the development of students who can function in a complex and increasingly digital information environment,” said Dr. Ross Todd, lead researcher in the study and CISSL Director.
